The Conquistador Equine Rescue and Advocacy Program (CERAP), an Arizona based 501 (c) 3 charity has been working for 11 years to rescue and rehabilitate more than 400 homeless and abused horses in the US including Conquistador and another 100 horses in Canada. CERAP also works with law enforcement to stop equine cruelty cases and has worked successfully with community members to get equine welfare legislation passed including working with Vice Mayor Thelda Williams to get a ban on horse tripping passed and with Dr. John Hunt, the Arizona Department of Agriculture and community members to get a voluntary inspection of horse rescues enacted. CERAP also works with our attorney to save wild horses so that they can live out their lives in their ancestral homes including the magnificent wild horses of the Apache Sitgreaves National Forests.
